Ghufran Rasool Hameed from  Department of Soil Sciences and Water Resources successfully defended her PhD.  work with the title (Improving the Properties of Degraded Gypsiferous and Desert Soils Using Mineral and Organic Amendments and Their Impact on the Productivity of White Corn)
The thesis aimed to diagnose and estimate the proportions of light and heavy sand minerals, identify the dominant clay minerals, and perform calculations to determine the degree of development and weathering in the studied soils.
The researcher recommended conducting further studies and research focused on the management and optimal utilization of Iraqi soils.
