Applicants must hold a recognized Iraqi Secondary School Certificate or an equivalent qualification.
Non-Iraqi secondary certificates must be officially evaluated and recognized by the Iraqi Ministry of Education after being duly authenticated by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the awarding country, as well as the Iraqi embassy in that country, if available. For applicants admitted under Channels (1, 3, and 5) referred to in Section (First), no more than three years must have elapsed since completion of secondary education for admission to morning study programs.
For students admitted under the private (self-funded) track to morning study programs, no more than four years must have elapsed since completion of secondary education. Applicants admitted to evening study programs are exempt from the graduation-year limitation.
Applicants must complete the official application form with all required information after payment of the prescribed application fee.
Students who are not proficient in Arabic may be granted a preparatory year at the Institute of Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers, College of Arts, Al-Mustansiriyah University, provided they are admitted through one of the admission channels referred to in Section (First).
International students applying for admission may be enrolled in the Institute of Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers in either morning or evening programs, in accordance with the admission channels referred to in Section (First). Tuition fees and academic charges shall be paid in foreign currency.
The application period for admission begins on July 1 and ends on August 15 of each academic year, except for applicants covered under Item (4) of Section (First).
Applicants must successfully pass a medical examination conducted by the University Health Services to confirm freedom from communicable diseases and physical fitness for university study. This requirement must be fulfilled prior to enrollment and applies to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Admitted students must complete registration at the college or institute to which they have been admitted no later than November 15 of each year, except as stated in Item (4) of Section (First). Failure to do so shall result in cancellation of admission.
The annual admission percentage shall be determined in accordance with the general admission plan and the number of non-Iraqi applicants.
Applicants ranked within the top 10% of graduates from technical institutes residing in Iraq may be admitted under the same regulations applied to Iraqi students. Visiting or international students shall be admitted in accordance with the admission channels referred to in Section (First).
Transfer applications from universities outside Iraq shall be considered under the same regulations governing the transfer of Iraqi students, in accordance with the admission channels referred to in Section (First).
Transfers between Iraqi universities and institutes shall be processed in accordance with the regulations governing Iraqi student transfers, subject to approval by the nominating authority and through the Ministry.
Upon final approval of admission, the student shall be granted an entry visa to Iraq, and the Iraqi embassy in the student’s country of residence shall be formally notified.
