The Engineering Unit at the College of Agriculture was established in 2004 due to the need for a specialized unit. Previously, tasks were carried out through the Engineering Affairs Department at the University of Baghdad, which often caused delays in completing work due to administrative and engineering procedures.
The Engineering Unit specializes in the construction of laboratories, plumbing works, building rehabilitation, and reviewing technical documents in the Engineering Affairs Department at the University of Baghdad. It also oversees supervision and acceptance committees for contractor work assigned by the Engineering Affairs Department. The unit prepares engineering documents that outline the required tasks for the beneficiary entity, allocates the necessary funds through the Accounts Division, and forms supervision and implementation committees for these tasks. The work is carried out according to the standard specifications outlined in the engineering documents, and cash advances for the supervision committees are settled.
