The Council is the specialized body in Iraq responsible for evaluation, measurement, and accreditation in education and training in agricultural sciences and specializations in all their diversity. It works to elevate the quality of educational, training, and research practices to serve the national economy and development. The Council undertakes numerous tasks, including:
- Building systems for institutional and program evaluation and accreditation in agricultural sciences education and training.
- Establishing standards for evaluating the institutional performance of agricultural engineering sciences education and training institutions.
- Evaluating programs.
- Developing, improving, and applying measurement tools.
- Designing and implementing educational, training, professional, functional, linguistic, and cognitive standards and tests.
- Participating in international standardized tests for evaluating agricultural engineering education and training.
- Periodic assessment of standards and requirements for educational and training institutions to obtain institutional and program accreditation from international accreditation bodies.
- Conducting evaluation, measurement, and accreditation activities for educational institutions outside Iraq.
- Organizing and holding workshops, seminars, conferences, and exhibitions.
The Council enjoys legal personality and administrative independence and is organizationally linked to the Supervision and Scientific Evaluation Authority in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
