Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Amira Mohammed Saleh, Dean of the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, and supervision of Prof. Dr. Hussam Jassim Hussein, Head of the Department of Animal Production, the Continuing Education Unit, in collaboration with the Department of Animal Production, held a workshop titled “Health Risks of Mobile Phones.” The workshop was presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Maad Hassani Mahmoud and attended by several faculty members and students of the department.
The workshop aimed to highlight the risks associated with mobile devices that combine traditional phone functions with advanced computer capabilities and various applications. These risks include eye strain, neck pain, sleep disturbances, psychological stress, impaired cognitive functions, and road accidents.
The lecturer recommended minimizing these risks by limiting mobile phone use, setting specific usage times, maintaining a safe distance, and avoiding use in areas with weak signals or confined spaces.
