The Women’s Affairs Unit, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit, the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering, and the Department of Plant Protection at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, organized a scientific seminar entitled “Water in an Era of Climate Change: The Battle for Sustainability and Survival”, attended by a number of the college staff members.
The seminar aimed to raise awareness about the importance of water conservation, highlight the risks of climate change on water security, and promote a culture of responsible water consumption. It also encouraged the adoption of sustainable practices and technologies in water management, supported cooperation among governmental institutions, academia, and society in addressing water-related challenges, and contributed to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals related to water and the environment.
The seminar recommended promoting water-saving practices in households and institutions, supporting rainwater harvesting projects and the reuse of treated wastewater, improving water infrastructure to reduce waste and leakage, adopting modern irrigation technologies to decrease agricultural water consumption, and enhancing scientific research on climate change and water management.
