Anas Hassan Jabbar from Department of Field Crop Sciences successfully defended his Ph.D. work with the title ” Effect of Seed Priming Duration with Different Concentrations of Appetizer on Germination Characteristics, Field Emergence, and Seed Yield of Sunflower “

The thesis aimed to investigate the effects of different concentrations of the biostimulant Appetizer, seed priming duration, and their interaction on certain growth characteristics, as well as the yield and quality of sunflower seeds.

The researcher recommended priming sunflower seeds with the biostimulant at a concentration of 4 mg/L due to its role in improving most germination and seedling growth characteristics. He also recommended conducting further studies to evaluate the response of seeds from other sunflower cultivars under similar treatments.
