Within the framework of scientific cooperation between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Nabil Jawad Kadhim, a faculty member in the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering, College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, University of Baghdad, has been selected as a member of the research team established under a ministerial order issued by the National Committee for the Registration, Accreditation, and Protection of Agricultural Varieties.
The team is tasked with conducting the necessary field evaluations and trials for tomato hybrids (6T05, 6T07, and 6T08) for the purpose of their accreditation as high-yielding varieties. This will be achieved through field visits to the company’s sites in several Iraqi governorates and the preparation of a scientific report presenting the evaluation results.
Dr. Nabil’s selection to participate in this research team reflects recognition of his scientific and research expertise in the field of horticulture. It also highlights the role of the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences in supporting national programs aimed at developing the agricultural sector and introducing and accrediting highly productive varieties and hybrids.
This activity contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
