Dhurgham Duraid Farhan from the Department of Plant Protection successfully defended his Ph.D. dissertation entitled “A Taxonomic-Morphological Study of the Mining Bee Family in Different Regions of Iraq.”
The dissertation aimed to conduct a survey across various regions of Iraq to identify the existing species and their distribution patterns, as well as to precisely diagnose and describe specimens of the studied species.
The researcher recommended investigating plant anatomical characteristics and their relationship to insect mouthparts to better understand host specialization, in addition to studying the behavior and number of generations of these species.
