The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit, the Department of Desertification Control, the Department of Agricultural Extension and Technology Transfer, the Department of Agricultural Economics, and the Ministry of Interior, under the patronage of Dr. Amira Mohammed Saleh, Dean of the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, and supervised by Dr. Shimaa Abdel Khaleq Al-Hamawandi, organized an awareness workshop on disengagement and family violence for lecturers. The workshop was conducted by Major Dr. Noor Ahmed Abdul Hussain, Dr. Sura Jasim Bandar, and Dr. Shimaa Abdel Khaleq Al-Hamawandi, and was attended by a number of college faculty members, staff and students.
The workshop covered several topics related to family violence and its impact on society, considering that the family is the fundamental building block of society, and its disintegration leads to the disintegration of society, and addressed the accountability of Iraqi law for such cases and their treatment.
