A PhD dissertation at the College of Agriculture, University of Baghdad, examines the impact of fiscal policy on growth and investment.
The College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Baghdad recently held a PhD defense for a dissertation titled “An Economic Analysis of the Impact of Fiscal Policy on Growth and Investment in the Agricultural Sector for the Periods (1980-2002) and (2003-2022) in Iraq.” The dissertation, presented by the candidate Mohammed Khalil Jasim from the Department of Agricultural Economics, aimed to analyze and evaluate the role of fiscal policy in achieving agricultural economic growth in Iraq. It explored the nature of agricultural investments, the impact of employment on these policies, and the extent to which fiscal policy contributes to activating local agricultural investment and encouraging the workforce to increase economic growth rates.
The researcher recommended studying the impact of government spending, assessing tax policies, achieving economic balance, and setting strategies for agricultural development, along with evaluating governmental policies.
