In fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals for quality education, the University Psychological Guidance Unit at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences – University of Baghdad held a scientific symposium addressing mental health. The symposium covered the concept of mental health, its challenges, and ways to enhance it for the individual. It highlighted the importance of mental health for the individual, methods to promote and maintain it, and how to deal with the mental health challenges an individual may face.
The lecture for this symposium was delivered by Dr. Muthanna Faleh Hamoud, Head of the University Psychological Guidance Unit at the College. At the conclusion of the event, recommendations were put forward to enhance mental health, as follows:

  1. The necessity of integrating mental health awareness into educational curricula.
  2. Enhancing the role of family guidance to build more aware, supportive, and psychologically stable families.
  3. Urging governments and institutions to increase investment in mental health services and facilitate access to them.
