Mushtaq Aboud Hassan from Department of Field Crop Sciences successfully defended his Ph.D. work with the title (Effect of Seed Activation, Temperature, Cultivars, Planting Date, and Spraying Stage with Combinations of Boron, Zinc, and Iron on Germination, Growth, Yield, and Seed Vigor of Sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.)
The study aimed to enhance seed viability and vigor before planting under low temperatures, as well as to improve seed quality through the management of the mother plant.
The researcher recommended conducting further studies on the use of micronutrient combinations in sunflower production due to their significant role in germination, growth, and yield improvement.
