The Department of Animal Production organized a scientific field visit to Al-Shukr Poultry Company for postgraduate students as part of the requirements of the course “Hatchery Management and Feed Quality Control,” under the supervision of Professor Dr. Hisham Al-Mashhadani.
The visit provided students with practical insight into several important aspects, including the procedures for receiving raw feed materials, sampling methods for laboratory examination, and the analytical tests conducted to evaluate feed quality. Students were also introduced to feed storage methods and the importance of maintaining proper ventilation, humidity, temperature control, contamination prevention, and quality control procedures throughout the different stages of feed production. In addition, they became familiar with the laboratory equipment and instruments used for testing and analysis.
The visit aimed to enable students to gain practical knowledge of the procedures followed in the inspection, receipt, and storage of feed materials, as well as to familiarize them with feed quality evaluation methods and quality assurance standards in accordance with approved regulations.
The students showed great interest in the practical aspects presented during the visit, which contributed to clarifying many theoretical concepts, particularly those related to evaluating feed quality and ensuring its safety before incorporation into animal rations.
