Assistant Professor Dr. Tamara Qasim Al-Saray has achieved a new scientific accomplishment through her contribution to the authorship of an academic book entitled:
Integrating Quantitative Genetics and Artificial Intelligence for Building an Adaptive Genetic Improvement System for Animals
The book was co-authored with Professor Dr. Mohammed Hassan Dakhil Al-Taie, Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Hassan Dakhil Al-Taie, and Assistant Lecturer Ali Hassan Dakhil Al-Taie. The book consists of 182 pages and was published in its first edition by Ahwar Publishing and Distribution House and Library – Baghdad. It carries the International Standard Book Number (ISBN): 978-9922-5613-8-7.
The book addresses the integration of quantitative genetics with genetic, productive, and environmental data, alongside artificial intelligence technologies, with the aim of moving beyond merely compiling the findings of local studies and research toward organizing and analyzing them and utilizing their outcomes to support genetic decision-making and animal genetic improvement programs.
It also presents a proposed framework that begins with establishing the Iraqi Animal Genetic Knowledge Base (IAGKB), followed by the application of data analysis and artificial intelligence tools, ultimately leading to the development of a Genetic Decision Support System and an Adaptive Genomic Index.
This work reflects an orientation toward connecting scientific knowledge with modern applications in genetic improvement, while benefiting from the accumulated body of Iraqi research within a systematic and knowledge-based framework that can be further developed and utilized in the future.
The College congratulates Dr. Tamara Qasim on this scientific achievement and wishes her continued excellence, success, and further contributions throughout her academic and research career.
