Razzaq Nasser Abd from the Department of Animal Production successfully defended his Ph.D. dissertation entitled “The Effect of Genetic Polymorphisms of the JAK2 and PAEP Genes on Productive Traits in Ewes.”
The dissertation aimed to investigate the genetic polymorphisms of the JAK2 gene and their association with productive traits in sheep, including birth and weaning weights of lambs, milk yield, milk composition, and body measurements.
The researcher recommended utilizing the findings of this study to identify and select genetically superior individuals with desirable traits as parents for future generations.
