A Doctoral Dissertation About Some Types of Bacteria Isolated From Soil, Defenced at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences
In the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Baghdad, a doctoral dissertation titled “Biological Treatment of Pesticide Residues Using Some Isolated Bacteria from Soil and Their Metabolic Products” was defended by the student Ihab Hamoud Ali from the Department of Food Sciences.
The study aimed to isolate types of pesticide-degrading bacteria and analyze pesticide residues in agricultural crops such as tomatoes, cucumbers, and eggplants. The researcher recommended the use of these isolates in field experiments to study their effectiveness in pesticide degradation and the utilization of bacterial metabolic products in field trials to determine their impact on pesticides and to extract and purify some of the enzymes responsible for pesticide degradation.
