The College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at Baghdad University joined the Fifth International Agricultural Conference. Universities of Baghdad, Mosul, and Basra co-organized the event under the theme “Sustainability of Food and Water Security in Iraq – Challenges and Opportunities.” The conference occurred recently at Mosul University’s College of Agriculture and Forestry. Iraq’s Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, sponsored the gathering, which drew many Iraqi, Arab, and international researchers.
Professor Dr. Amira Mohammed Saleh, the college’s dean, led its delegation alongside faculty researchers. Specialized committees held multiple sessions across two days to examine submitted scientific studies. Discussions covered various agricultural challenges and potential solutions.
Organizers announced conference recommendations during the closing ceremony and honored exceptional research with awards. The scientific committee evaluated 145 submissions, accepting 95 from Iraqi and international scholars representing 12 countries. Selected papers will appear in Scopus-indexed journals published by Baghdad, Mosul, and Basra universities, alongside the conference proceedings.
