Sara Thamer Hadi, Department of Food Sciences, successfully defended her PhD work with the title “Extracting and identifying some active compounds from orange peels and using them with nano-selenium-fortified carrageenan as a method for preserving some foods.”
The study aimed to extract and identify some active compounds and study the chemical content of orange fruit peels, as well as to use some active compounds in the aqueous extract of orange peels in the green preparation of selenium nanoparticles and to characterize the resulting particles.
