Within the framework of strengthening scientific collaboration and exchanging expertise, a scientific delegation from the Palm Research Unit conducted a field visit to the Palm Station affiliated with the Horticulture and Forestry Department at the Ministry of Agriculture. The purpose of the visit was to review the latest developments and modern technologies adopted in date palm cultivation and management, as well as to learn about the station’s progress in production methods, sustainable agricultural management, and pest control.
The visit included a field tour of the palm orchards, where the delegation observed various tissue-cultured cultivars and reviewed the programs implemented for irrigation, fertilization, and the control of pests and diseases. Discussions also focused on strategies to enhance agricultural performance and improve both the quantity and quality of production.
During the visit, both sides exchanged scientific and technical insights, contributing to the advancement of research efforts, the development of date palm cultivation, and the promotion of agricultural sustainability and food security.
