The Women’s Affairs Unit, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit and the Department of Plant Protection at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, University of Baghdad, organized a workshop entitled “Enhancing Women’s Skills in the Labor Market.” The workshop was delivered by Prof. Dr. Maryam Mal Allah and attended by a number of the college staff.
The workshop focused on key areas that support women in entering or advancing in the labor market, including the development of soft skills such as communication, self-confidence, and time management, as well as job search skills (CV writing and interview performance). It also addressed the development of professional and technical skills aligned with market needs, awareness of women’s rights and labor laws, stress management and work–life balance, promotion of entrepreneurship and self-employment, and the use of technology and social media in the workplace.
The workshop aimed to empower women, boost their self-confidence, enhance their employment opportunities, and develop their communication and teamwork skills. It also sought to raise awareness of modern labor market requirements, encourage financial independence, and support creative thinking and initiative.
The workshop concluded with the expectation that participants would be able to prepare professional CVs, confidently pass job interviews, clearly define their career goals, acquire practical and applicable skills, improve decision-making abilities, take concrete steps toward employment or launching their own projects, and build professional networks.
