Ali Abbas Khudair from Department of Agricultural Extension and Technology Transfer successfully defended his MSc.  work with the title ” Date Palm Orchard Owners’ Application of Scientific Recommendations for Controlling the Red Palm Weevil in Diyala Governorate, “
The study aimed to identify the level of application by date palm orchard owners of scientific recommendations related to the control of the red palm weevil, as well as to identify the problems and obstacles hindering orchard owners in implementing these recommendations.
 The researcher recommended organizing training courses and implementing specialized agricultural extension programs on red palm weevil control, in addition to strengthening extension activities directed toward date palm orchard owners.
