The Department of Agricultural Economics held its first meeting, chaired by Prof. Dr. Iskandar Hussein Ali, to discuss a number of scientific and administrative matters on the agenda.
The meeting addressed preparations for the new academic year 2026–2027, including preparing classrooms and providing the necessary logistical and scientific requirements to ensure the smooth delivery of the educational process.
The Council also discussed preparations for the second-round examinations, emphasizing the completion of all examination requirements in accordance with the regulations and instructions issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The Council approved the formation of the Scientific Committees and the Postgraduate Studies Committee within the department to enhance academic work and follow up on student and research affairs.
The meeting also emphasized the importance of developing an integrated continuing education program, including scientific workshops, seminars, and field visits, contributing to the development of the skills of faculty members and students.
The Council further discussed the scientific research and high-quality publication plan for the coming year, stressing the importance of publishing in recognized scientific journals and enhancing the department’s research performance.
The meeting concluded by emphasizing the need to keep pace with academic developments by incorporating artificial intelligence topics into the academic curricula, in line with modern trends in higher education and the labor market.
This activity contributes to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education).
