Safa Kamil Kadhim from Department of Animal Production successfully defended her Ph.D. work with the title (The Relationship of Genetic Patterns of the FABP Gene with the Performance of the Iraqi Buffalo)
The study aimed to identify the genetic patterns and variations in the FABP gene in a sample of Iraqi buffalo (distribution ratios of genotypes and allelic frequencies) and the relationship of these genotypes with a number of productive traits.
The researcher recommended increasing the frequency of the genetic patterns and their allelic frequencies that demonstrated the best productive performance based on the variations obtained in the studied segment of the FABP gene.
