Ruaa Naif Abdullah from  Department of Food Sciences successfully defended her Ph.D. work with the title (Biodegradation of Acetamiprid Pesticide Using Locally Isolated Bacteria)
The study aimed to biologically treat the acetamiprid pesticide using bacteria isolated from soil contaminated with this pesticide, as well as to reduce the pesticide residue on eggplant crops, thereby minimizing environmental pollution and its adverse health effects on humans.

The researcher recommended the potential isolation of certain types of molds and yeasts capable of biodegradation and bioremediation of pesticides, along with the feasibility of applying biodegradation methods at both local and commercial levels.Congratulations to the researcher on this success.
