Assistant Lecturer Eman Abdul-Azeem Kadhim from the Department of Agricultural Machinery and Equipment participated in the 10th International Scientific Conference on Arbaeen Pilgrimage, held in Karbala on August 7–8, with the participation of religious, academic, and official figures from various countries around the world.
The faculty member presented a research paper entitled “The Role of Artificial Intelligence Technologies in Managing Mass Crowds and Enhancing Security and Safety during the Arbaeen Pilgrimage.” The paper was accepted for publication in the peer-reviewed Arbaeen International Journal. She was also nominated to serve as a scientific rapporteur for one of the specialized research sessions focusing on artificial intelligence applications.
The conference addressed several scientific themes, including crowd management, artificial intelligence, sustainability, digital transformation, services and infrastructure, as well as the social, economic, cultural, and media dimensions of the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
The conference concluded with several recommendations, most notably the development of a smart and sustainable digital system for crowd and service management, the establishment of a national observatory for Arbaeen studies, the development of infrastructure, and the utilization of artificial intelligence technologies in managing the large-scale pilgrimage.
