The Department of Animal Production at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, University of Baghdad, organized a guidance lecture entitled “Building Healthy Relationships and Respecting Personal Boundaries” as part of the activities of the Department’s University Psychological Counseling Committee. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Omar Sadiq Hameed, the educational counselor for fourth-year students, and addressed the importance of fostering positive relationships among students and promoting appropriate interaction within the university environment.
The lecture aimed to raise students’ awareness of the importance of establishing academic relationships based on mutual respect and consideration for personal boundaries. These principles contribute to promoting positive communication and creating a safe and supportive university environment that enhances students’ psychological and social well-being.
The lecture also featured interactive discussions with students, providing an opportunity to exchange opinions, ideas, and new perspectives. These discussions helped promote constructive dialogue, develop students’ intellectual and cultural awareness, and reinforce the values of respect and responsibility in human and academic relationships.
This activity reflects the Department’s commitment to supporting students’ psychological and social well-being and strengthening the role of university psychological counseling in developing well-balanced individuals capable of establishing healthy and sustainable relationships, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
