Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Amira Mohammed Saleh, and with the direct supervision and continuous follow-up of the Head of the Department of Animal Production, Prof. Dr. Hussam Jassim Hussein Banneh, a number of students participated in a series of practical field lessons, forming an essential part of the field training requirements.
The lessons included a range of specialized field activities, such as:
  • Tagging animals using modern scientific methods.

  • Conducting sheep dentition procedures to determine animal age based on dental morphology and physiology.

  • Performing other practical field applications that contribute to enhancing students’ hands-on skills.

Students showed remarkable engagement and enthusiasm during these sessions, demonstrating high levels of commitment and a strong desire to acquire practical expertise, which is fundamental for preparing qualified specialists in the field of animal production.
In parallel, the College Dean, accompanied by the Department Head, conducted a field tour to inspect several classrooms and scientific laboratories of the Department of Animal Production at the Abu Ghraib campus, aiming to assess their readiness and strengthen the practical training environment for students.
This activity reflects the department’s vision to promote applied education and supports the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), by integrating theoretical knowledge with real-world field training, thereby preparing students to effectively engage in the agricultural and research workforce.
