A training course on presentation skills was organized by the Department of Agricultural Extension and Technology Transfer at the College of Agricultural Engineering, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit. The training course, titled “Creating Presentations Using PowerPoint,” was held as part of the department’s annual scientific and training program and was attended by faculty members and postgraduate students.
The course included training lectures delivered by Dr. Rasool Hadi Hassoun, titled “Fundamentals of Professional Presentation Delivery.” The lecture addressed principles of organizing scientific content, presentation skills, and effective communication with the audience, in addition to standards that contribute to delivering a rigorous and impactful scientific presentation.
Dr. Ali Latif Jassim also presented a lecture titled “Fundamentals of Creating Presentations Using PowerPoint,” focusing on the technical aspects of slide preparation and design, as well as strategies for incorporating visual elements and effects in a scientific manner that enhances clarity and strengthens academic presentations.
The course aimed to develop students’ skills in preparing and presenting research effectively and to enhance academic performance in line with quality standards in higher education. It also reflected the college’s commitment to supporting sustainable development, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), by promoting high-quality training and continuous professional development.
The lecturers recommended incorporating presentation and scientific communication skills into regular training programs for postgraduate students, given their direct impact on improving the quality of seminars and thesis and dissertation defenses. They also emphasized adopting standardized academic guidelines for presentation preparation to ensure high-quality content, structured delivery, and professional visual design.
This activity contributes to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education).
