Under the patronage of Her Excellency Professor Dr. Amira Mohammed Saleh, Dean of the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, and under the supervision of Dr. Iskander Hussein Ali, Head of the Agricultural Economics Department, the department organized a scientific workshop titled “The Educational Environment for Women and Its Role in Countering Intellectual Extremism.
Presented by Dr. Zahra Hadi, the workshop addressed the importance of empowering women by enhancing their educational environment to improve their social and economic status. The lecture emphasized that education helps reduce gender gaps despite the cultural and economic challenges women face.
The workshop focused on the role of educational environments in combating intellectual extremism, which stems from poverty and ignorance and manifests as cultural and scientific intolerance. Dr. Hadi explained that promoting critical thinking and encouraging tolerance within educational institutions can immunize youth against extremist ideologies. She called for adopting modern curricula that reinforce values of justice, equality, and social awareness.
The recommendations concluded with the necessity of providing safe educational environments that foster creativity and constructive dialogue to counter extremism. These efforts align with the Sustainable Development Goals for quality education, reflecting the college’s commitment to its societal role in building conscious generations.
