The College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Baghdad hosted the activities of the International Scientific Forum entitled “The Future of Agriculture and the Challenges of Artificial Intelligence Technology.” The forum was held at the College of Physical Education under the patronage and supervision of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Ameera Mohammed Saleh, with the participation of a distinguished group of academics and researchers from Iraq and abroad.

The forum was organized as part of ongoing efforts to explore future pathways for the development of the agricultural sector in light of rapid digital transformation, and to highlight the applications of artificial intelligence and the challenges associated with its implementation in agriculture. These efforts aim to contribute to sustainable development and strengthen food security.
The forum included a series of specialized scientific and panel sessions addressing contemporary topics, notably early detection technologies for the red palm weevil. In addition, several patents and scientific innovations were presented and discussed, including the development of a device for producing distilled water based on water recycling, methods for preparing and using magnetized iron and nano-iron in foliar fertilization, as well as converting two types of table salt—regular and sea salt—from conventional to nano-scale size for agricultural applications.
The event was attended by several academic leaders, including the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Professor Dr. Raed Ibrahim Khalil, the Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Diyala, Professor Dr. Fadhil Ahmed Hussein, and the Dean of the Technical College at the Middle Technical University, Professor Dr. Bassman Munther Jawamer, who emphasized the importance of such scientific events in supporting research activities and strengthening academic collaboration among educational institutions.
At the conclusion of the forum, certificates and shields of excellence were presented to the participants, who expressed their appreciation and gratitude for the efforts made to ensure the success of this scientific forum.
