Professor Hussain Abbas Jabr, a faculty member in the Department of Agricultural Machines and Equipment, College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, University of Baghdad, participated as a member of the Master’s thesis defense committee for the thesis entitled:
“Evaluation of the Performance of Several Maize Varieties and Estimation of Some Genetic Parameters under Different Land Leveling Methods”
submitted by Alaa Kadhim Hussein Fadhel, a student in the Department of Field Crops, College of Agriculture, Al-Qasim Green University.
The thesis aimed to investigate the effect of the interaction between different land leveling methods and various maize varieties in achieving optimum plant growth and maximizing crop productivity. The findings are expected to contribute to improving agricultural production efficiency and sustainable farming practices.
This academic activity supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by promoting scientific research, academic collaboration, and knowledge exchange among Iraqi universities.
The defense session also featured a constructive scientific discussion, during which the committee commended the student’s significant efforts in preparing the thesis, as well as the quality of its scientific content and the value of its research findings.
