Based on the Department of Animal Production’s commitment within the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Baghdad to support innovative research projects and employ modern technologies in developing the livestock sector, the department held a discussion session for the Ph.D. research proposal of Mr. Osama Mohammed Abdullah, supervised by Professor Dr. Ziyad Tariq Al-Dhunki, entitled:
“Design and Fabrication of a Locally Manufactured Robot (Baghdad-1) for Managing Newly Hatched Turkey Poults.”
This study aligns with the department’s modern research orientations aimed at integrating technology and artificial intelligence into the management of animal production projects. Through this research, the student seeks to design and develop an intelligent, locally made robot (Baghdad-1) that enhances the efficiency of managing and caring for newly hatched turkey poults during the early stages of their life, using smart monitoring and environmental control systems within rearing halls.
The discussion was conducted as part of the comprehensive examination committee, in accordance with the official academic regulations. The committee provided constructive feedback to further improve the proposal, after which it was officially approved, recognizing its innovative and practical contribution to advancing the poultry sector and supporting the digital transformation in animal production.
The Department of Animal Production reaffirms its commitment to encouraging and supporting researchers to adopt creative scientific ideas that contribute to the development of applied research and serve the agricultural sector in Iraq.
The committee members and the academic staff extend their best wishes to the researcher for continued success.
