The Unit for People with Disabilities, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit, organized a scientific seminar entitled “Some of the Divine Capabilities in Plant Science,” delivered by Prof. Dr. Hatem Jabbar Atiyah Al-Rubaie, with the attendance of a number of college faculty members.
The seminar aimed to identify the growth processes and physiological functions that plants undergo and their relationship with the environment, as well as to explore modern techniques that contribute to increasing plant growth and yield. It also addressed comparisons between current wheat yields and the potential for increasing them according to interpretations of certain Qur’anic verses, in addition to studying plant science and its importance in recognizing the power of God in creation.
The seminar concluded with several findings, most notably the role of the Holy Qur’an and calm music in increasing plant seed yield. It also emphasized that plants have sensitivity and therefore should not be exposed to stress factors such as cutting branches or burning parts, as this may lead to a loss of more than 90% of yield. Furthermore, it highlighted that reflecting on the capacities endowed by God to plants enhances faith and certainty in His greatness. It was also stated that the detection of vibrations and electrical signals using modern devices within plants, particularly related to DNA, indicates that plants “prostrate to God,” and that they are not influenced by any force that diverts them from recognizing the greatness and power of God.
